1. Acceptance
By using mdfileconverter.com (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service (the "Terms") and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
mdfileconverter converts Markdown documents to PDF. It is offered on a freemium basis: anonymous and free-account use is permitted within published rate and page limits; paid plans unlock higher limits, no watermark, batch conversion, and storage. The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We make no guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping access to the email address you use to sign in. Magic links are sent to that address; anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. One person should not create or operate more than one free account to circumvent rate limits — doing so may result in suspension.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Process content that infringes intellectual-property rights, defames anyone, or violates applicable law.
- Process content depicting child sexual abuse, terrorism, or imminent violence.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape at scale, or otherwise abuse the Service's infrastructure.
- Use the Service to test or transmit malware, or to deliver unsolicited bulk email.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice. For severe abuse, we may also report activity to appropriate authorities.
5. Billing
Paid plans renew automatically each month via Stripe until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for unused time, except where required by law. Failed payments may result in downgrade to the Free plan.
6. Your content
You retain all rights to the content you submit. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely for the purpose of generating your PDF and (if you are a Premium user who has opted to save the file) storing it in your account. We claim no ownership over your content.
7. Our content
The Service's code, design, branding, copy, and themes are owned by the Operator and are not licensed to you under these Terms. You may use generated PDFs freely, including the four built-in themes applied to your content.
8. Service availability
We make a reasonable effort to keep the Service available, but offer no specific uptime SLA. We may perform maintenance, upgrade infrastructure, or make changes that briefly interrupt service. Substantial planned downtime will be communicated in advance where practical.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $20. The Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that puts our infrastructure or other users at risk.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the Operator is resident, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page; continued use of the Service after a material change constitutes acceptance.
